Ever since I finished the VN, I was wondering how they'd adapt it and assumed they'd split the two seasons in half, one cour for both main routes, but then they decided to combine both for some reason which was clearly a terrible idea. All those poorly animated action scenes, too.
Either way, though, the 0 VN was severely disappointing. It's still better than the original OVA and movie, but not by much. The only good part in the whole thing is Maho. I never noticed how dumb or annoying her Amadeus/Salieri complex was until the anime came out, though. But I did hate the sort of retcon for Kurisu where she apparently listened to classical music to calm herself while she worked, which never happened in the original story and is just silly in 0.
At least we got Maho out of it.
