I tried this show because somebody here told me it's "one of the two best SoLs of all time" and I couldn't finish it. Art style aside, it's exactly what newfags mean mean when they use "moe" as a pejorative. It's so cloying it's insulting. It's almost amazing an actual woman wrote this stuff and not some out of shape 40 year old man, it's so typical of female characters written by the latter category.
When everything is sweet, nothing is sweet. You need a little mean-spirited humor here and there in a SoL to add balance, like Ika Musume or Azumanga Daioh (although the latter sucks too and it's only rated highly here because it's part of the collective addled adolescent memories of 25 year old """""oldfags""""" who spent the early 00s indoors blocking pools on Habbo on their parents' computer).
