>>3584855>>3584951I’ve been thinking the gimmicky aspects of the series could have been removed or at least reduced by showing the girls preferring to be in their mermaid forms which the series does sate to be their true forms, so it goes to reason that they would probably be more comfortable in those forms.
Merpeople have some control over their transformations and late in the manga it is shown that Merpeople don’t need to get wet to revert to their true forms and can do so at will. Though it should be noted that this was one of the adults doing this.
Examples of what could have been doe are:
Relaxing in mermaid form while at home or when no humans who don’t already know they are mermaids are around
Sleeping in mermaid form
More bath scenes
Including an area where they could go swimming without being seen. This should just be a secluded area that people avoid or something more elaborate like a hidden pool for merpeople or having an underground pool addd to the house after one of its many renovations. At worst they could just have used the canals Kai uses to move his submarine around.
