Puyo Puyo is a Tetris-like game, closer to Dr. Mario.

Puyo Puyo Tsu (1994) is free on the snes emulator, I recommend trying that game out.
Or if you want something more modern, you can buy Puyo Puyo Tetris.
I'd not recommend Puyo Puyo Champions, it's cheaper but there's no single player.
And if by off chance you ever played "Kirby's Avalanche" or "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine" as a kid, those are just the first Puyo Puyo game reskinned for america.
