there is quite literally no major reason to change the image limit to 250 as /c/ is already a slow board and doing so would only cause near dead threads to stick around for close to half a year (or even longer); there are already threads that do this which stay alive for 3-4 months due to a single image every 1-2 days. besides, if a thread reaches image cap and there is still interest, then make a new thread - there is nothing stopping you if you really care about the thread topic.
bumping up the limit would only slow the creation of new threads and cause "single image bumpers" to keep dead threads alive longer.
