There are also dolls on the cheaper end - DoA has a list of dolls under $300, and some are as low as $120.(Again, the clothes and accessories are going to get you - I paid $130 for a doll, but the final price after wig/shoes/clothes was $340~)
That said, if you put aside a little money each week, you'll get there before you realize it. There are regular threads on /jp/ too.
