>>3879413I'm not exactly sure on where it started, but from what I've heard, the Spanish version of the TV series episode where Asuka (8: Asuka Strikes!) is introduced was aired first in Mexico before the other primarily Spanish-speaking countries. I'm sure that's an internet urban myth or maybe it even got started within the last few years and I'm completely wrong, but there you go. Ultimately, it's just fun for a character to have a special day out of the week.
