That's echoed in the ending when Shinji repeats her description of herself that, oh also, was part of her formal introduction to him.[/spoiler:lit]
It's actually an important part of her character. Not to mention the Japanese connection with breasts to motherhood. Sakura Nagashi didn't include footage of breastfeeding for no reason.
