Most of the series from before that era are visibly underrepresented on virtually all imageboards, although in the case of Ojamajo Doremi it is especially striking: That series ran four four years straight with over 200 episodes through four seasons (or five if you add that "Naisho" miniseries) but has less fanart than many modern series which are way shorter.
Admittedly the basic target audience also plays some part in it but the discrepancies are still enormous.
