>>4108374>it's the combo of lips + eyes + eyelashesI might disagree. But before I indulge myself in musing
>Beauty is in the eye of the beholderThis axiom is both true and untrue, depending on your frame of reference. It is true in the wide sense that, among cultures in general, adherents to the culture will have fairly limited variability in what is considered attractive. However, it is also true that within such a framework, each individual has, throughout their life, defined specific shapes and forms with particular feelings and values. For example (assuming all these Sabers are from the same artist)
>>4091874I find this very pretty (barring the enlarged breast size which I find uncanonical and in bad taste). Even before this conversation began, I found me asking myself why. My answer was: the large eyes and the (culturally ubiquitous) eyelash makeup are certainly a component, but not, I decided, the preeminent factor. What appeals the most to me is actually the (as strange as it sounds) skull shape. Artoria is depicted here with a large and round cranium and relatively petite and delicate facial structure featuring a small nose and narrow mandible. The contrast between those two shapes is highly characteristic of feminine bone development. Additionally, the maxilla (cheekbones) are quite wide, which for reasons that I don't understand, and almost universally regarded as attractive in both men and women.
I also like the slightly curled tendrils of hair loosely dangling in front of the ears. I don't know what this is called, but it, to me, appears elegant and high class. The very bright and sparkly jewelry also emphasizes similar notions of of refinement, purity, and rarity, as do the straight, white teeth.
