>>4299597Started a few years back, drawn and written by Tatsuhiko Ida, with input by Rei Hiroe. It's a bit like a 'gaiden' series, in that it has a very different and exaggerated tone and style, largely being horror comedy. Sometimes featuring supernatural themes, occasionally suggesting some of them are just hallucinations. Feels very much like it's intended as a separate canon.
An interesting choice is that Sawyer is depicted almost entirely as a silent protagonist, conveying herself entirely through facial expressions and actions.
It seems to be largely built on the style and canon of the two light novels which Urobochi wrote, where Hiroe asked him to "challenge the setting of Black Lagoon," making it much less serious and far less grounded. The LNs are quite fucking ridiculous, but not in a bad way.
From what I've gotten translated before, it's overall a different experience, but enjoyable in its own way. There's also a second spinoff series by someone else, starring Eda.
