a lot of vocaloid songs came out over the years that either made no sense or the lyrics were about disturbing topics like child abuse and suicide
i never really liked them much since they were too high pitched and full of ear rape
if people were calling those songs "denpa" then they probably started to call the derivative songs that started being made based off of them the same aswell
thats just my guess atleast
