I'm not going. I went last year and it was barely about comics anymore. TV shows, movies, video games, and some comic stuff.

It was also incredibly crowded. Had no fun last time.

I've gone every year and the quality seems to be declining a lot each year. I didn't even buy tickets this year. I'll probably just sneak in again though.

I've been there twice, last year and two years before that. I liked it my first time, but I think that's because it still had Anime Festival tacked on.

I'd try sneaking in but I'm terrified of getting caught.

They're a bunch of volunteers. Even if you're caught, they p. much just ask you to leave. Last year security was a little tighter so my friends couldn't sneak in. Instead, they just asked people with one day passes who were leaving if they could get their passes.

First time going ever. Gonna be going on Friday only. What should I expect? Is there anywhere in specific I can meet up with cool people? Most of my friends flaked on me and waited last minute for tickets, and now their sold out.

This is the first time in about 4 years that they've changed the red footer on the passes to green.

In the pastI managed to sneak in a friend or two with my passes from the prior years by allowing them to wear it around their necks. Security wouldn't bother to look twice on a crowded day like Saturday & Sunday afternoons they virtually don't give a shit.

I thought I could get away doing the same thing too, as I haven't bought a pass yet, but it doesn't seem likely this year.

It's a shame because passes sold out in minutes this year & street passes didn't last long either. Even worse, a good percent of people who bought 3-day passes are newcommers who probably won't come back for a second day of the con, or at least avoid Sunday as usual.

Security got tighten up once again, for this year.The passes now got an ID chip in them, and security guards will be scanning them upon entry and exiting the con.

Because they're nearly contrasting colors, a security guard at the door would easily notice that you have the a different/wrong pass without even inspecting it closely, it's pretty obvious.

I was able to get a ticket, if we were to have a meet up, the best place to plan it would be here.

I'll be at the convention all day so if something were to happen, I'll stick around the McDonald's by the centre for about an hour or half an hour.

Hearing this makes me so sad. It was also annoying because NYCC's website said something to the effect of "you can't buy tickets online but there are some buyable on-site at these stores." What if you aren't local?

Crazy to think that I went to NYCC 2 years ago and bought tickets onsite on Friday and Saturday no problem. What happened that made it sell out so quickly?

I got a site that does articles and reviews of games and anime and that sorta shit. I applied for both a fan group booth and a press pass, but no dice on either. I ordered a 4 day pass beforehand just in case, but nevertheless, I'm bummed out.

Damn, I forgot to get a ticket this year because they sell out so fast so I was hoping on sneaking in or buying from a scalper.
All my previous years I bought from scalpers too or got one from someone who was leaving.

I'll figure out something.

There is an entrance on the side, that people go to smoke at. It's on the lower floor on the east side of the javis center.

When you cross the street keep walking, Walk about half a block until you're about ten feet from the ground adjacent from the wall to your right.

Jump over the wall and then head toward the main entrance of the con

My friends and I forgot about it. It's been on my bucket list to go to a con, and it's probably the closest one to me...only about a 4 hour drive or so.

I'm almost kinda glad I didn't go though. I've seen awesome youtube videos of past cons but I'm not sure if I'd be able to handle that much of a culture shock, even with friends.

Does anyone have a greentext of what a day is like at a con so I know what I'm missing (or not)?
