When it comes to dadrock, they're the cream on top. I don't trust anybody that doesn't like ELO. Their influence stretches beyond the 1970s to just about every studio musician that ever mattered since then. Along with ABBA, ELO further developed the ultra-compressed and echoey Wall of Sound recording methods begun by people like Brian Wilson and Phil Spector in the '60s. Oh yeah, and if you like ELO but don't like ABBA, there's a good chance you really do like them only because it's weeb shit. ABBA can get really intense when you listen closely to the background parts.
