From a friend's experience, it depends on what you do. I know there were some interesting panels you can go to. Mercedes Lackey and one of the lead animators from Animaniacs and Pinky and The Brain each had their own panels with discussions on anthropomorphism in media, it's uses, followed by a Q&A session. They also had some interesting fun sessions you could go to. My friend went to an improv session that he said was pretty fun, but a brony got in there and basically just spouted memes and shit. Lastly, you can buy stuff from artists. A lot of which you can't get through internet means/piracy. Apparently Reynard Queenston did a rave their that was a lot of fun, but he said the fursuits made it a bit more uncomfortable.
