>>2857314When I was in high school band, we had a yearly tradition during the summer to 'kidnap' the incoming freshmen while they were asleep. The upperclassmen would (after clearing it with the parents) break into their house and wake the freshmen up, then before they could get dressed, drag them to a car where a full day of activities was planned. At first, the students would be embarrassed about being in their pajamas while surrounded by fully-dressed friends of theirs - then everybody else would start to wake up and they'd be embarrassed about being seen by strangers - then finally they would get over their embarrassment and just have fun doing silly things with the rest of the section.
The point of this wasn't just team-building but to try to force the incoming band members to get over their embarrassment about doing something weird in public - it's hard to play an instrument in front of an audience if you're self-conscious.
Common sense dictated that the boys would wake up the boys and the girls would wake up the girls, plus there would be a few minutes for each student to brush their teeth and put on deodorant, but I always imagined a situation where somebody who slept naked (this was in the middle of summer) would get pulled out of the house and have to spend the whole day like that.
