I suppose now is a good enough time to introduce Posie's parents, since I consider her an important enough character to have her parents fleshed out plus I think it could lead to fun dynamics.
>Martin "Marty" McGarden
Friendly cheerful guy, almost always has this dorky smile on his face. Devoted Mormon man, and also works as a dentist in town. He is neighbours with the Hansleys, and gets along fairly well with Chaplyn as they are both responsible adults. Martin accidentally brags about how great and well behaved his daughter is around Chaplyn which makes him envious considering how Chaz is. Martin has a hobby in gardening, and likes to talk about how great the "McGarden garden" is. He tends to be the more fun parent, and even though he sticks to the rules he tends to be more lenient on what Posie can and can't do. Darwin hates his guts, because when Darwin offered him a beer Martin politely turned it down, which to Darwin is extremely disrespectful. And of course not drinking alcohol makes you a pussy in his eyes.
>Heather McGarden
Less friendly than her husband, a lot more strict and puritan in her beliefs. She is very self repressed and always dresses modestly. She puts the most pressure on Posie to be perfect and brags about it to her sister, who is Lydia's mother. Heather tends to be more open about how she disapproves of activity she sees as sinful, Posie gets her more controlling traits from her. Heather doesn't get along with her neighbour Patricia, because she thinks it is indecent to walk around dressed like that. She works as a florist, and that's how she met her husband through his gardening hobby. With their shared love of flowers and same religion leading to them getting married.
Thoughts? I feel when it comes to adding new characters parents for preestablished characters are the ideal.
