I was thinking with Dream Child's characterisation to lean into the "child" part of his name, giving him a very childlike mindset to balance out his magic powers. He wants to do good but his immaturity means he doesn't always do that, I sort of see him as a Peter Pan type. He'd kidnap someone and take them away to the abandoned theme park to live with him and he wouldn't understand why someone wouldn't like that. I think this allows him to play the role of an ally as well as an antagonist whenever appropriate.
