>>1519405The scapegoat fatbike seemed to have an innovative chainstay design when it came out. It was designed to allow narrow Q-factor cranks with fat bikes. I cannot confirm if matt crust was the first guy to do this on a production bike, though.
They a singlehandedly responsible for making high-rise stems cool again, including all the limp dick designs. and they consistently went _farther_ than anyone else was willing to go regarding massive fucking tires on drop bar bikes.
Then there is the newest lightening bolt cantilever version, which is designed to "plane" like Jan Heine likes. Basically it's flexy in a hopefully good way. You really can't buy a new bike that does that without going to a builder. So you could hypothetically get a good deal on a flexy rando bike.
They were also the only people on earth offering quill stem disc forks, and one of the few offering 1" threadless disc forks (nashbar has been selling that 1" cx carbon monstrosity for a decade though)
Also they are responsible for fucking huge drop bar widths which many companies started ripping off immediately. Personally I think these suck ass but they are selling. That was an Ultraromance idea but matt crust made it happen.
all that being said, most of these ideas were on their way to hitting mainstream cycling regardless, but crust saw it and did it first. it's sad that cheech is posting ignorant bullshit like this
