The cap will fit without any modifications either if it is the identical product as the one that needs replacing or is of the same geometrical shape in the dimensions that matter.
In all other cases its a question of thought and or or experimentation.
First thing I do when trying to get any hub to do anything it's not supposed to do from the factory is take it apart and directly or indirectly measure everything relevant to the problem at hand. Like in picrel. Then go from there. Be creative.
