Butted 4130 frame. So your good entry level steel.
Fits 40mm tires so wide enough for gravel touring (im 38 is peak size or atleast good enough).
But starts you on 30mm tires which are good for city/road riding.
The claris groupset is very good.
Has all of the bosses that you want for touring, including the fork bosses which bikes often don't have.
High drop bar geometary is good.
Fantastic sport touring bike. Fast and considering a lot of your routes will be smooth, road-focused.
Weakness is the cheap brake spec, the cheap crank, the not extremely wide gearing, and the cheap wheels. All of them can be upgraded in future to suit your style. Wider gearing is very cheap because you can just run a mtb derailer and a wider cassette. A dynamo wheelset can be added if those wheels break, if they don't, they're good, and there are numerous better mechanical disc brakes which are not that expensive.
I think this is your best option as a noob, because out of the box it's good for you, and it has potential in all the right directions. It's not fancy, but it's current generation, in stock, and within budget. And I quite like the graphics for a black bike.
