Last time I was contemplating here if Race King is the optimal tire for a 90s MTB commuter as it had very low weight and rolling resistance. I ended up buying a pair of Marathon Supremes, as they seem to be low weight, puncture resistant (important) and have a very low rolling resistance on a particular german metal drum. I also got them for bit cheaper than what Race Kings would have been. They are quite ugly and only 2", which is probably 47mm in reality. I don't mind though as I badly need some space under fenders, and once you have fenders it's irrelevant how sexy your tires are.
I might end up hating them but I am relieved for now that I don't need to read tire specs anymore, hopefully for a while.
