>>1505647I have a cassette too, but looking at it closely the freehub looks really short so it may be a freewheel, shimano hub though so I’ll double check. I wanted a derailleur since she complains about climbing hills but if it doesn’t work out I’m sure the extra efficiency of a real bike over a walmart special will help either way. I’m going to tear this bike apart and clean/regrease everything at the minimum so I’m not opposed to spending money on it
Should I look for flat bars or try to find drop bar brake levers?
Should I tighten the spokes a bit and ghetto-true it? The front wheel seems nice and tight but the rear has some softer spoke tension.
I also want to clean up the saddle a bit but I’ve never worked with leather, do I just scrub it down with some kind of leather conditioner or something?
And finally are these kinds of brakes decent enough after I clean and lube them?
