Why does it seem like everyone usually shits on working in public transportation, be it as a driver or some other position? With the recently renewed interest in transit online, sometimes I wonder if this is being used to bait young people and students (who are railfans or avid bus riders) into working at these companies. But is it really as bad as they say?
Reviews always mention the same things. Lack of respect towards the employees by directors and management, poor administration, and no opportunities for development, training, or skill growth. Where the employee is treated as a mere workman, and savings are sought only on firing people and increasing the duties of those who are still left.
Is this the exception to the norm or is it dependent on the city/country?
