The Cube Attain Pro seemed nice (and the idea of getting an endurance over gravel), but the Cube store wasn't helpful at all so I ordered the Trek. It even comes with wider 32mm tires which is better for me and you can mount a rack on it opposed to the Cube Attain, the downside is that the breaks seem a little worse Hope I made the right decision to avoid the grabbel trend all together. I don't seek out light trails or difficult roads on purpose but I want the ability to drive on them at slower pace if needed. Well over 80% of what I drive on is paved. I am a casual but frequent rider, will probably never go with those clip shoes and never upgrade that Sora group, so at the same time I hope I didn't "buy too much bike". While it's easily in my budget, I do feel guilty spending a lot of money for a bike after riding 50€ flea market bikes all my life.
