what I sometimes do for stops on frames is just take a barrel adjuster from a derailer, or a brake caliper, or something, and hose clamp it on the frame. It's pretty secure. If the diameter for a ferrule is wrong you can use a stepped ferrule or shim the ferrule with some strips from a beer can.
