I've always liked shortline railroad livery. Unlike major railroads like CP that have the money to hire a design agency like Lippincott to make their livery and the Multimark, shortline railroads just seem to figure it out themselves. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. It's usually just straight to the point too. Couple colours and their name or reporting mark and that was enough.
Here's one of Montréal, Maine and Atlantic Railway's liveries. They went bankrupt after crashing a freight train in a residential neighbourhood and killing 42 (possibly 47...there were a number of people who suddenly went missing and were presumed to be vaporized in the explosion) people in Lac-Mégantic. CP eventually bought up their assets and stuff after a failed come back.
