Winora, Stevens, etc. There are some pretty high-spec German cromoly ones from back in the day. I've bought a few in NZ. MTB groupset, 700c wheels. Wide clearance because fenders. If you remove all the german accessories you have a pretty good gravel bike/ comfy beater/ tourer.
Don't exclude womans bikes either unless you're really tall.
It's easy to pick the good ones too. Just anything with a STX/Deore/XT groupset on it.
