>>1245056Captain was an idiot who put the throttle to idle when flying low without realising it takes several seconds for N1 to get from about 30% to 80%, plus he had no idea of what he was doing.
>>1244975Yes they can. Sidesticks can still be used for manual flying, plus all the sidestick sensitivities have been unified, meaning that all Airbus aircraft handle almost identically. The A318 is just as responsive and maneuverable as the A380.
>>1245535Sidesticks are more responsive, reactive and also require less effort to move. They're also space saving allowing for a more ergonomic flight deck allowing for more space for the flight crew reducing fatigue and workloads.
A350 Cockpit is so ergonomic and well laid out. it is possible to understand panels and lights at a glance without needing to check dials and settings. The A350 is also a paperless cockpit (QRHs are still in the aircraft and logbooks still need to be filled in), meaning that charts, flightplans and weather information can all be displayed on monitors allowing for a much easier cockpit design, reducing work loads, reducing pilot fatigue and also increasing situational awareness.
