>>1586599it's basically part of the grid, it's bounded by the prime real estate roads of Central Park South, Central Park West, Central Park North, and then Fifth Avenue is basically Central Park East. There are roads that cut through the park, and a few individual freestanding buildings inside of the park. I guess the Metropolitan Museum of Art is the main intrusion in the park, but it was planned when the park was planned.
Really it would be hard to imagine New York starting to chip away at the park since it is so neatly structured.
