If we take a typical crossover or SUV (not a more efficient car) that gets 30 mpg, divide 1125 by 30 and multiply by gas price to get $125. You can barely even get a bicycle for $125. I guess if you get a pickup truck that gets 7 MPG and that's still $538.83, which barely covers the threshold for "not a shit bike", and once you start going to "well what if it's a pickup truck that's in an expensive urban area that travels a lot" you're no longer talking averages.
