It was supposed to be a futuristic development with monorails and interconnected buildings, but all over a functional street level. It was never built (only a few regular office towers remain today) but if the new development was coming there was no reason to invest in the area if it was going to come down. Of course, /n/ only sees one aerial photo and thinks "Cars...BAD!" without any other consideration
