Giant are one of the big 5, they have a good history, some of their rigid mtbs are very good, they invented compact geometary, TCR has always been a god bike.
They exist slightly downmarket of the others. Traditionally cheapest for the spec of the big brands. Recently the worst colorschemes/design/graphics of all. Their entry level road bike specced an allum fork for a long time too which was bullshit.
They're actually a taiwanese company and they make a lot of other companies bikes so the fact they have a handle on quality control makes sense.
Merida is the same but downmarket further and iunno what he thinks of those.
