Ride a 45 miler last weekend, first time I took the bike on a big Fred ride, first time on a bike in a year.
>Mile 20 and a dude flies by me on the brakes, slows down, trails me, and then eventually questions me about the bike. Says it's his and was stolen in 2019. I promise to return the bike at the finish line. He rides off.
Finish the the race and there he is. He's not mad, he's over joyed. Showed me police reports and the gas station surveillance video of the theft in 2019.
Drive home with no bike but a good feeling.
