>>1877625Posting a quick photo. I'm ngl the work up to now was mostly taking parts off the bike and figuring out what is useable and what can just be tossed. In all honesty, the kids bike is unremarkable - there was no seat or seatpost and it wasn't ridden much before being tossed into a nearby very shallow river. I might talk about some of the parts with photos but frankly the bike is an unremarkable kids bike.
What you're seeing are the fork and the rear stays. I'll post a picture of the rack as it stands soonish, but it's done square and rectangular tubing salvaged from a desk or something. Essentially, the stays will hold up the rack and the wheel will mount to the dropouts there, the fork will be cut up to weld to the rear-end of the rack wth the intent of keeping the rack level. The steerer tube will also need to be extended, it's an inch or so short - we've got materials for that, but not knowing how to weld myself I'm just kinda watching and learning and helping to cut and measure stuff and come up with ideas.
