1 Traffic at good speed, traffic picks up in density.
2 Traffic in mostly good speed, but the roads getting tight, people go a little slower - even thou they could go as normal. But nobody can keep a perfect distance all the time, apparently.
3 Traffic hit the critical mass, a Karen slammed her brakes, Chad changed lane and cut of a truck, who can accelerate again. Two lanes are hindered, never to pick up it's lost pace, because people are frustrated and irrational.
This is unquestionable even worse in America. The lane capacity is proportional to the driver qualifications. The more demanding driver lessons, theoretical lessons and practical training a population has before getting a license, makes capacity increase along the road. Other variables influence it as well, a big enough change in culture, and you have vastly different values to change also, if you want to improve capacity on the roads.
