>>1896936Alright I've got them set up right, few miles in, bedded the pads.
I'd say they're like an alternative to cantis. They are a lot more powerful, lots of skidding and locking up first few rides. But the modulation available is a lot lower, so they don't feel very good when you're just trying to slowdown with light touch.
It's like, with cantis you've got a large span of stopping force available to you but to really stop you need a lot of force
But with these it's like nothing, sort of touching the rim, of shit I'm stopped.
I definitely prefer these, being able to stop on a time with light touch is very nice. The feel at the lever is worse, but nothing I can't deal with, it's a details thing.
Rim clearance is low, but not as bad as I expected. I have a decent amount of dead space on the levers to get enough clearance but within acceptable bounds.
So far they stay centered. And I can unlink them and my wheels pop out just fine, this frame has trouble with that when I have 38's on.
7/10 for the price breddy gud. More of an alternative to cantis, but if you've got the time and patience to set your cantis up right they'll probably be a bit nicer if not as powerful.
There was some grittiness in the bearings that I wasn't expecting but it hasn't translated to any sort of feeling in the levers. I imagine the tektros or trps would be a pretty slick brake system
