>>157622648/16 for 2 years or so but this year I switched to 165 cranks from 170 and the gain ratio with 165 is a little rough for everyday delivery work. Before that I was comfily rolling around in 46/16 with 170 cranks. I've been thinking of sizing down to 50/17 because of the 165 cranks and winter approaching, 48/16 sucked last winter even with 170 cranks so 165 will suck even more. I'm just hesitant on replacing my drivetrain for the winter only to have to replace it again next spring so I might just have to tough it out.
One thing I noticed about 48/16 is it wears unevenly since the wheel always accelerates at the same spot. When I rotate the wheel, the drivetrain is significantly more worn at specific spots that it's way more difficult to get the drivetrain to run silently smooth without a lot of track slack.
