Seats are first come, and you can watch the country roll by with a glass of wine. People are social, so if you don't want to be, bring headphones.
You can bring your own food. Snack bars have options if you're in a pinch. The dining car takes dinner reservations.
All and all, i fucking love it. Can't stand flying coach, and can't afford any better. Would rather take a train just about anywhere.
