Does your city have Critical Mass or another kind of activism for the improvement of cycling infrastructure?

I just rode along in one of those protests yesterday and it was great. These people are the opposite of NIMBYs and road rage cagers.

Attempting to ride a bike on the street in this city is madness. People will honk and shout you off the road, and if that doesn't work, they'll force you off with reckless driving.
Honestly, most cagers in this city seem surprised every time they spot a cyclist in traffic. I've been cut off and almost killed by assholes swerving into parking spots because they couldn't be bothered to look over their shoulder. This city is just anti-cyclist territory.

did a couple of group rides recently due to cyclists getting killed by drivers; couple of hundred people riding to the accident site, blocking the intersection, placing a ghost bike etc...
dunno about critical mass but i'll look into it; used to be pretty scornful of such activism but if it forces the city to take notice or makes drivers more aware it can't be a bad thing right ? infrastructure is much better than it used to be but my commute is still pretty fucking tense due to the sheer volume of traffic.

Yeah same in NYC, youngsters don't understand how good we have it now. The cagers literally tried to ban all bikes from midtown in the 80s. Now we have new bike infrastructure being rolled out every week and everyone laughs at the NIMBYs who resist the inevitable (n.b. resistance only makes our penis harder, it's pretty much the only thing that can make us hard, due to penis damage from too much riding)

We do here. I worry that the event to motivate a move to safe infrastructure is the introduction of these electric cargo bikes that people use to bring their groceries and kids places. They are amazing and are way more pleasant to deal with than the cars.

I think that a car is going to end up killing a child on one of these and it will force people to take planning more seriously in dense cities.

There's a lot of room for improvement. More bike lanes needed, better bridge crossings, more aggressive pro-bike regulations when it comes to buildings (the 2009 Bikes in Buildings law and the 2016 amendments do not go far enough and are easy for building managers to game). Those would bring real change. Not "waah the streets are bumpy". The point is you twitter twats need to focus on substantive, bicycle-specific improvemens, instead of attacking the DOT because you ran over a pothole once. Really? I thought you need a "Fahrräder frei" sign for that. Except for junctions of course, where you may change to the left turn lane on the road if you want to make that turn.
