>>1574236>expensive>shitExcept it isn't, at least not where I live. The average monthly wage here is about 1400 USD. The YEARLY pass which gets you unlimited rides on all the metro, trams and buses costs 165 USD. it's basically nothing, half a dollar a day.
Of course, you sometimes get a smelly hobo or junkie, trams may be tagged or a little bit dirty, but generally all the vehicles are clean, not smelly, all the metros, trams and buses usually run on time...on the other hand traffic is usually hell, parking your car is usually hell. So using public transport means a lot less trouble for "average normalfag."
Of course there are people who worship their cars and rather spend absurd amount of money for fuel, car insurance, repairs etc. just to sit in their own tin box instead of paying half a dollar a day and use cheap, reliable and relatively clean public transportation.
And it goes pretty much the same for most big european cities, except the vehicles are usually even cleaner and prettier than here.
