-historically important city centres, often picturesque, many sights with high end businesses and upper class living. pedestrian friendly.
-soulless comiblock suburbs reserved for lower classes, foreigners and such
-excellent public transport to keep it all together
America:
- really nice art deco inner cities turned into getthos and apocalyptic ganglands, only poor people go here.
-rich people live in soulless suburbs and commute to work downtown for hours each day
-you NEED a car to survive?
