>>1729926Heavy, Lower maintenance. Limited gearing range.
Best use: Give no fucks all conditions commuters in relatively flat areas. IGH's take an efficency hit the farther away you are from their "natural" gear, which is as efficent as a heavy single speed, but it's not enough to give a fuck unless you're a tourer.
Bad uses: Putting so much millage that you're regularly wearing out cranksets. Performance road. Lots of big hills up and down.
EXCEPTION: Rollhoff and Shlumph, and nuvinci.
Those cost so damm much and function differently enough that they should be treated as a separate thing.
t. Owns a Bianchi IGH bike.
>>1729937>>1729939Depends on the model. SA types are literally just flushing it with oil every few years. Nexus types are packing it with grease once a decade. Think of it like a nuclear power plant. It's great when everything's going well, but if something goes wrong, it tends to blow up spectacularly.
>>1729966Avoid it, as it's a bad sign for the bike as a whole, but if you're desperate, you might consider it. Lets see the bikes.
>>1729940Buying a frame and bars that actually fits you.
>>1729982It shouldn't matter much, but small small.
