>fully enclosed canopies on their bikesfull fairing is susceptible to cross winds, bigger problem for two wheeled vehicles
>more cyclists would rather be exposed.for ventilation and unobstructed views + lower weight and cost, no fragile fairings to snap off
>mopedeither way people dont want to pedal
>dependencymaterial dependency, how scarce are the materials that are in use to provide a product ?
partly overcome by synthetic products .eg rubber, oil (mid to low end inner and outer tubes tend more towards low quality synthetics, only hipsters use natural products)
catalytic converters for emissions control contain some rare elements, to the point its profitable to steal them
battery's contain some dank metals and are the main consumable of an E bike / car / phone / laptop
scarcity also extends to common metals, eg 4130, stainless steel, tool steel, all becoming slowly more coveted and hoarded
the question eventually becomes to what extent you accept the use of finite materials
and weather its cheaper/more profitable to mine new metals than to recycle old ones
>exerciseunless someone car crashes on the way to the gym its safer than biking on the road or even some Multi use paths,
that and runners bikers and walkers are getting tired in a public place where they can get mugged, nonetheless gym is boring anyway
>If you live in a city or even a suburban townotherwise known as the last mile problem, for cars its fucking around trying to find a parking spot, getting your windows broken in and your stuff taken
for bikes its trying to lock your bike to something and hoping it does not get jacked entirely
>carsare best suited to light infrequent use to transport goods to places where its hardly even worth building a road let alone a rail line
but cars along with trucks have been pushed into a mass transit role
