>>1893878Libtards were screeching about racism and how ever present it is, how there are some shadowy systems upholding it. I found the idea ridiculous, I was laughing about it, I agreed with the 'skeptic' pundits who ridiculed it.
Then I got into urbanism. For classical liberal Yuro reasons. Because IMO car infrastructure and car dependence destroys European culture and community, what makes us human.
I learned about American zoning, redlining, freeway planning and historical demographics, eminent domain, NHTSA approach to pedestrians, NIMBYs and the whole concept of how "sidewalks bring in crime" etc.
Arguing with Americans about the topic really brought to light the stark contrast between them and 'us' regarding this.
To them it's about demographics and lack of community and interpersonal trust, not convenience or speed. They simply don't want to be around certain people, not that I don't understand why.
Arguing with them enough makes them openly admit systematic racism exists, why it exists and how it's a good thing. They're the racists the 'libtards' claimed they were the whole time.
I am no longer laughing. I feel stupid. I never looked deep enough until I had taken an interest in a topic that shows this in some way.
