why don't they make stiffer cranks for people who aren't weight weenies, you can easily make the crank arm deflect and move it relative to the chainstay with your bare hands, i think it would be more satisfying to have a stiff platform in all aspects of the bike for responsiveness and power transfer, and mainly rely on the tires for the compliance that you need, and just generally not be a pussy, you don't need the plushest ride to have fun, the thing i'm upset about is the crank arm but the principle applies to pretty much everything, for example when they make the bottom bracket spindle 30mm instead of 24mm they use aluminium instead of steel and they make it so that you don't gain any stiffness, you just save a few dozen grams or whatever
