I run instead of walk pretty much wherever I go. In basic training they made us run everywhere (you weren't allowed to walk except on Sundays) and I liked it and just didn't stop. Everyone I know thinks I'm autistic or something, and people at multiple jobs have independently started calling me Forest Gump. Not autistic, I just like runnin.

but driving takes away from the point of traveling which is to be "out" and cars are typically indoor spaces. It's a tough compromise for faster speeds to be enclosed, if you want to feel good you want to be outside when you travel.

I have both. I'm just saying as to why someone would bike as apposed to drive, the main reason is because there's little exposure when driving since it's typically an asocial way to get around with no benefits to health. A convertible may solve this but it won't be much more social, because you'll mostly be surrounded by noisy shut-offs and smelly gas fumes anyway.
