old one works fine beside that it rubs the rear tyre
went from 1.95 tyres to 2.25 and the knobs are buzzing it in 1st gear
i could adjust its angle but then it wont shift right
theres plenty of room in the frame for even wider tyres (which id like to try one day)
im kinda confused tho because ive seen bikes with much wider tyres, fatbikes even that have front deraillieurs
do they make front mechs that are designed for wider tyre clearance?
do i need a special crankset thats more spaced out for that?
or is it just that newer deaigns are narrower or something?
the bike is an old 21 speed shitbox
pic related looks pretty good and can handle the gear range im using but can it handle wide tyres?
im also wondering what the difference between a top swing and bottom swing is
and if how many gears i have in the rear actually matters, the bike is currently 7 speed planning to upgrade to 8 speed and maybe one day 9 or 11 and i see front mechs listed with the number of rear speeds but i dont see how that matters
