how viable is the future of electric scooters and bikes?

i’m getting into them because i fucking hate owning a car and a license. i live in a small city where sidewalks and bike lanes are mostly always empty and i’m not really bothering anyone. i’m just afraid a bunch of dumb asses will try to ruin it.

because of the aformentioned dumbasses, and the fact that walkers and bikers are already scraping the space they can from cars, the future is grim. scooters are a different class of vehicle, same as ebikes that aren't speed limited, they need their own lanes but in many places even bikes don't get lanes so i'll hold my breath. and the price of entry is so low that a lot of degenerate retards ride them at high speed between groups of people and also kill themselves.
