Hello guys, next week will be the first time I fly the airbus a320 and it’s my first pilot job. In the simulator while I was landing the plane, airspeed was really low however it really was like at 10-20 AGL. And then the TOGA took over. Trainer didn’t even explain why. Why?

Did the TOGA automatically engage or was the trainer the one who initiated it? Was it with or without A/T enabled? Do you remember your rate of descent?

If you stall at 10-20 feet AGL at landing there is no point in engaging TOGA if you are well-aligned and already above the threshold. Granted the approach was stable until the near stall occurred.

I can't really imagine a scenario where the A/T would go to TOGA at that point. Additionally, you'd be going IDLE anyways at that altitude.

Because airbus has computers that wont let you fuck up. It was litterally designed for 250 hr pilots. Nothing wrong that it is comfortable, but you have to understand your plane. A boeing would have just let you slam it into the dirt.

That was a combined floppy stick issue (no physical sense of command priority) and shit coding of signals authority (stall alert cuts out when no inputs from airspeed sensors, instead of sounding continuously until condition is resolved, vertical velocity alert too muffled, instead of blaring "NIGGA THE PLANE IS FALLING" at the pilots).
This enhanced Bonin's spatial disorientation and prevented the other guy from figuring out what was going on.
